Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Home Inspection?

Home Inspections are a non-invasive examination of the home. Like a detective, our licensed home inspector will use tools and visual clues to determine the condition of the home.

Who Should Get a Home Inspection?

While not required, home inspections are recommended when purchasing or selling a home. The Seller may provide a home inspection to any prospective buyers showing a full report on the condition of the home. Buyers should obtain a home inspection prior to purchasing a new home so that they may be aware of any issues within the home that could potentially lead to major problems.

We also recommend having a home inspection completed on your home every 10 years or when you see any major signs of system failures within your home.

How Should I Prepare for a Home Inspection?

We recommend having someone available on-site to meet the home inspector at your appointment time. This will allow you the opportunity to ask the home inspector any questions you may have.

Please make sure that there is access to all systems and areas within the home, including:
  • Bedrooms and Bathrooms
  • Water Heaters, Condenser Units and Furnaces
  • Basements and Garages
  • Attics and Crawl Spaces
  • Electrical Panels
  • Windows and Doors

We recommend all Utilities connected and Pilot Lights lit for the inspector to review all systems. It is impossible for the inspector to review any plumbing or electrical issues if the utilities are turned off or to properly inspect any water heaters or furnaces if the pilot light has gone out.
